Go to the airport railway station and use S13 or RE8 to Cologne Tradefare Deutz. There are also ICE connections but they usually do not service Cologne Tradefare Deutz but Cologne Central Station only.

After leaving the train walk in the opposite of the direction of the cathedral and the bridge over the river. At the end of the platform you will find stairs to the underground. Once you are down turn right and walk further down to the end (wall) and turn left. Take the stairs another level down.

The platform of tram 1 (among others) is in front of you. Service is every 10-15 minutes. Take the tram heading for Bensberg. There are also trams of service 1 which do not proceed to the final station Bensberg. So be sure to use one having Bensberg on its destination sign. Stay on the tram until you reach the final (underground) station. The ride takes about 25 min.

After arriving at the terminal station of tram 1 "Bensberg" take the stairs up. When you get outside turn around in the direction of the bus stop. Take a bus 420 or 227 (one station, get off at Thomas-Morus-Akademie) towards Overath or walk (15 min) according to the map above to the Kardinal Schulte Haus. The bus leaves every 5 to 20 min.
